Reflect and Reconsider

When I first started to choose my topic it was a bit hard, because I didn't really know what I wanted to write about. After days of thinking and thinking I came up with drunk driving. I though drunk driving was an interesting topic to talk about. I also though it could help a lot of teenagers see the consequences about such an important topic. I started very poorly I did the first two blogs and then after that I stopped writing anything, and researching anything. I think I just didn't take the enough time to look over the stuff on my topic. Know that I see how important it is to keep up with my blogs. Right know i think i just keep researching for more and more stuff about drunk driving I'm sure there will be plenty more for me to learn about.

Survey...

I gave out survey's to some students in one of my classes about this topic, because I was wondering what they though about drinking and driving. One of my question was...

Do you know anybody that's been in an accident?
4 out of 10 students said yes, that a lot of family memebers had been in serious accidents they said that they knew the consequences about it and that they were just not thinking of what they were doing when they crshed. That they were so drunk that they didn't even know.
Another of my question was...

What are your thoughts on drinking and driving?
2 out of 10 students were guys, said it's really dangerous, 4 out of 10 (boys) said the didn't realy care as long as that didn't happen to them. And the other 4 girls left said that this ype of accidents shouldn't be happening if just everyone knew how to handle the situatin, for example if they knew that they would be dinking then bring someone along to drive for them.

Well this survey that I passed out helps me see and helps other people see what some students think abou important topics that happen arpund the world every weekend.

Web site review....

http://www.alcohoalert.com/drunk-drivng-statistics.html
http://www2.potsdam.edu/handsondj/drinkinganddriving.html

These are some websites I found about drinking and driving thefirst one talks about some statistics about drinking and driving andto inform people about alcohol. The creator of this website sounds really amible he has created separate sentences giving the percentages of how manny people have died by having alcohol in the blood. Towads the middle of the page he put some graphs and charts s you can see a better picture of what you are talking about.

This secound website seemes verry well organized with lots of great information. It tell syou facts about the situatioin and it also shows a picture of a really bad car accident. And how the car would look. At the biggining it tells you three main things about drunk driving, it tell you what the problem is the facts about th sitution and the solution. It also gives you tips to protect yourself like...

- Use four-lane highways whenever possible
- Avoid rural roads
- Avoid driving after midnight specially on Friday's and Saturday's
- Choose veichles with air bags
- Don't use a phone, eat put make up on or comb your hair.

Those are things tha also distract you when you're driving. Over all this tw websites are really good sites to get helpful uniformation about Drinking and Driving.

Current News...

;">Drinking and driving has always been a big issue since the 1990's. The United States was given a a "c" grade in the war on drunk driving. In the year of 2007 17,448 people were killed in an alcohol-related crashes representing 41 percent of all traffic deaths. More than 500,000 Americans are injured annually in crashes involving alcohol. Drunk Driving affects all of our life's whether we realize3 it or not. Every single injury and death caused by drunk driving is totally preventable, although the proportion of crashes that are related has dropped dramatically in recent decades. There's still to many such preventable accidents. Alcohol impaired driving remains a serious National problem that tragically effects many victims annually. There has been a lot of arguments one of them was " If I'm older enough to go to war then I'm old enough to drink. This was a really strong argument. The fact to this argument is that citizens are legally adults at the age of 18. Another argument about drinking and driving is " Europeans let their teens drink from an early age yet they don't have the alcohol problem we do." It seems that alcohol has always been around and a lot of accidents have occurred.
